New Pro Basketball Team in Town

At a Press conference yesterday the newest team in the Brazos valley was announced. They’re called the Twin City United. Former A&M Grad Assistant and player Dominique Kirk was the first pick of the United team. The other player at the presser was Othello Alford from Sam Houston State by way of Calvert. It’s the first American professional basketball league to play FIBA rules. FIBA is the international basketball federation.  The ABL (American Basketball League) is where you’ll find the united team. The goal is  trying to develop players that will actually result in their eventual career over sea’s through strategic placement with our international partners. Austin Pooley is the owner and he announced his new head coach John Caffino at Allen Acadamy…where the team will play it’s home games.  John Caffino laid out the time line for the team with formal practice “the vets show up” starting January 10th. “The first game is the 20th on Laredo and the first home came is the 25th.”
