Syracuse’s Boeheim One Away From 900
Sports Monday, December 17th, 2012SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) _ Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim has an opportunity to join an elite group this evening when the Orange welcome Detroit to the Carrier Dome.
The 68-year-old Boeheim is in his 37th year at his alma mater. He has amassed a record of 899 wins and 304 losses.
Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski and the retired Bob Knight are the only men’s coaches in Division I history to reach the 900-wins plateau. Coach K is the all-time leader with 936. Knight won 902.
Syracuse is 9-0 and currently No. 4 in the AP poll.
