Former Cadets Accused of Burglarizing Dorm Rooms

Two former members of the Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets band are accused of 46 burglaries in cadet dormitory rooms during the fall semester.

University Police Lt. Allan Baron says Jovan and Eleazar Martinez took a variety of property during all home football games and the night of Aggie Muster.

Baron says the brothers were spotted by a plainclothes officer during the Sam Houston State game.

That led to questioning Jovan, and with a phone call to Eleazar monitored by UPD that resulted in discovering stolen items in College Station and their home in Rio Grande City.

Baron says many items were recovered, but among the missing property are Aggie rings and a large amount of cash.

Jovan, who was arrested December 10, is out of jail after posting bond.  Baron says Eleazar is scheduled to turn himself in on Thursday.
