Westside Historical District is Headed to the Bryan City Council

Since 1980 there have been efforts to create a historical preservation area west of downtown Bryan.

The idea received lots of comments before being endorsed by the Landmarks Commission in October and last month by the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z).

The Bryan City Council takes up the proposal January 8th. Approval will take a supermajority of five votes because a qualifying protest petition was submitted.

Among supporters speaking before P&Z was Ann Weaver Hart.
