Texas A&M to Play Oklahoma in 2013 AT&T Cotton bowl

Texas A&M has accepted its 13th trip to the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, and the Aggies will face Oklahoma in the Jan. 4 bowl game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Kickoff for the 77th Cotton Bowl Classic is slated for 7 p.m. (CT) and the game will be televised nationally by FOX.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to represent the Southeastern Conference in the 77th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic,” Texas A&M Director of Athletics Eric Hyman said. “Without a doubt the hospitality shown by the Cotton Bowl is legendary and I am sure our Aggies, the 12th Man, will be well-represented at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.”

The Aggies, under the leadership of head coach Kevin Sumlin, finished the regular season with a 10-2 overall record, marking its first 10-win season since 1998 and the 12th in program history. A&M was 6-2 in its first season in the SEC, which tied for second in the Western division. The Sooners also finished the regular season with a 10-2 record, and claimed a share of the Big 12 Championship with an 8-1 record. It will be a matchup of two top 11 teams in the Bowl Championship Series standings with the Aggies checking in at No. 9 and the Sooners ranking No. 11.
