With the help of a videotaped confession, a Bryan man may spend the rest of his life in prison.

A Brazos County District Court jury took 38 minutes to convict 39 year old Victor Hamilton of sexual assault of a child.

The victim, who was not related to Hamilton, was 16 when the illegal sexual contact occurred several timesĀ over a two year period that ended in April of 2007.

The jury spent another two hours to decide punishment, which ranged from 25 years to life due to a pair of prior felony convictions that made Hamilton a habitual offender. He was sentenced to 75 years.

@ God Fearing. Psalms 113:4. Are you applying this passage to the convicted or the victim? It amazes me that something like this didn’t get more publicity than it did. I applaud WTAW for covering it.pppp seems to imply that the “child’s mother had a roll in this”. Does that change the fact that a grown man admitted on tape that he did this? It’s never okay to harm a child in such a way. She was 14 when this started and he was 32. This was his wife’s God Child! It wasn’t like he didn’t know. This should show all child molesters that this will not and shall not be tolerated. God can and will forgive him if he asks for it but while here on earth, he will have to pay for his crimes and the list is great. He had a list of previous charges and convictions and after each of these he progressively did worse things. He served a small fraction of time for what he has done in the past and I believe these casual slaps on his hand made him feel he could do anything and he did. I pray for him and his family but my main concern and prayers go to the victim. He gave her a life sentence to live with.
