The latest vehicle burglary arrest by College Station Police began with an eyewitness report.

Officers were told by a citizen Wednesday morning they saw someone on Brentwood near Cornell.

The man, who was trying to open doors of vehicles parked in front of duplexes, got into a SUV and took several items.

The witness said they watched because they thought it was odd someone was walking in the street instead of the sidewalk.

Officers tracked down the owner of the SUV, confirmed the theft, and arrested a homeless man, 28 year old Gregory Jackson, for the burglary along with possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia.
