Perry embarrassed himself in the debate for the Republican Presidential nomination, and Dewhurst got his clock cleaned by Cruz even though he had the backing of the Republican establishment, so maybe this is a joint attempt to regain some popularity with the voters. I do not agree with Perry’s immigration policy to grant in state tuition to illegal immigrants, but I sure agree with this drug testing requirement for anyone seeking financial assistance from the state.
