Nighttime Bicyclists Cause CS Crash That Closes University
Featured Stories, News Tuesday, November 13th, 2012A Monday night crash that closed University near Veteran’s Park for 90 minutes began with two bicyclists attempting to cross the highway.
Officer Rhonda Seaton of the College Station Police Department says one motorist who swerved to avoid hitting the bicycles went into oncoming traffic, leading to a three vehicle crash.
Seaton says the accident report did not indicate whether the bicycles had headlights and reflectors, as required by state law, or if the 9 and 69 year old riders were wearing reflective clothing.
Seaton says no tickets were issued to any of the drivers.
No one was injured.
