CS Mayor Says Time Will Run Out to Consider Position on Proposed Private Landfill

Opponents of a proposed private landfill west of Easterwood Airport won’t see the College Station City Council consider sending a message to state officials.

On WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, Mayor Nancy Berry says the council won’t meet again before a deadline set by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Comments from Nancy Berry.

As of October 4, the last day TCEQ posted public comments on its website, no comments were received by individual council members. About two-thirds of the nearly 300 letters received by the state are opposed to the landfill. While a permit has not been issued, state officials say the landfill application meets all legal requirements.
