Texas Reds Festival Review

Saturday night’s severe weather was the only thing that threw a wrench in this year’s Texas Reds Festival in downtown Bryan.

Deputy City Manager Joey Dunn says they’re working on a make-up date for a Roger Creager concert. Dunn says Johnny Lee was about three-fourths through his show when heavy rains began.

Dunn says city employees and festival volunteers executed their severe weather plans well, using the Emergency Operations Center to coordinate efforts.

Dunn says final sales figures should be ready for the city council’s second meeting in November. Preliminary information shows Friday steak and wine sales were higher than last year and Saturday sales of wristbands, food, and drink were down.

Joey Dunn visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
