Opponents to Proposed Private Landfill Ask CS Council for HelpFeatured Stories, News Friday, October 12th, 2012
The first 30 minutes of Thursday night’s College Station City Council meeting was taken by people living around the site of a proposed private landfill west of Easterwood Airport.
16 speakers, all opposed to the landfill collecting construction debris, called on more council involvement.
Robert Marshall wanted the city to annex the Brushy community.

Another resident, Eileen Beck, says the Brushy community is united in its opposition.

State officials say the landfill application meets all legal requirements but a permit has not been issued. Nearly 300 comments have been received by the state, two-thirds coming from opponents.
Because the speakers appeared during the public comment portion of the meeting, the city council by state law could not address speakers.
