BTU Starts Tree Trimming Season With a New Contractor

This is the time of the year tree trimmers begin their work along power lines. David Werley at BTU says the familiar orange trucks have been replaced by a new contractor.

Werley says the trucks, which will be identified, will start trimming lines coming out of BTU’s Adkins substation at Fountain and Union streets.

Werley says there won’t be any change in how much trimming is done, which is enough to protect power lines from coming in contact with branches during windy and icy conditions.

WTAW’s Bill Oliver visits with David Werley.
