A crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle near Jane Long Middle School last night left a man dead.
Around seven, a southbound white, 1999 Lexus SUV attempting to make a left turn onto Clear Leaf Drive failed to yield right of way and was struck on the passenger side by a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling north on the inside lane of FM 2818.
The motorcyclist, 22-year-old Brandon Maple, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The intersection of the two roads was shut down until eleven.

Fatality Accident – FM 2818 and Clear Leaf Drive
On Thursday, September 20, 2012 at approximately 1758 hours, a fatality accident occurred in the intersection of FM 2818 and Clear Leaf Drive. The driver of a white 1999 Lexus was southbound in the turn lane of FM 2818. The driver of that vehicle failed to yield the right of way while turning left onto Clear Leaf Drive. A motorcyclist on a 2012 Harley Davidson was traveling northbound on FM 2818. The motorcycle impacted the side of the white Lexus. The motorcyclist, identified as Brandon Maple, age 22, was thrown from his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the white Lexus had no apparent injuries.
