Midtown Men Open OPAS’ New Season
Featured Stories, News Thursday, September 20th, 2012The MSC OPAS opens it fortieth season this week with The Midtown Men, who are performing a large number of the sixties’ greatest hits.
Member Daniel Reichard says that by the end of the show, audience members are usually standing, singing, and smiling, whether they’re thirteen years old or seventy.
He says the members of the group met while playing The Four Seasons in the original Broadway cast of Jersey Boys.
Fellow group member Christian Hoff says they have three to four hours worth of music which they switch up in order to stay engaged with the audience during their ninety-minute performances.
Hoff says the sincere messages and diverse cultural influences of the music, including r & b, doo-wop, Motown, and rockabilly, are what make the songs so memorable.
They’ll be performing tonight at 7:30 in Rudder Auditorium.
