Groundbreaking took place Tuesday for the first manufacturer to locate in the Texas Triangle business park.
Gunler Foods is locating their first U.S. based production facility in the park, located on the east side of Highway 6 in north Bryan, between FM 2818 and OSR.
Gunler will initially build two production facilities. One is for bottling and labeling edible oil products, including corn, canola, soybean, sunflower, and vegetable oil. The other is the manufacturing of paper products including napkins, tissue paper, and kitchen towels.
Gunler’s $15 million dollar investment includes more than 110,000 square feet of manufacturing space on 25 acres.
Gunler President Erick Garcia says construction begins Friday, with the goal of starting production in February 2013.
Garcia says a company has been hired to recruit 250 employees and that effort will begin in a couple of weeks. Annual payroll is projected at $6.2 million.
