CS Council Ends Pursuit of HOA Nature Trail
Featured Stories, News Monday, September 17th, 2012College Station’s Lick Creek Hike and Bike Trail will not include a nature path through the SpringBrook residential neighborhood.
At its last meeting, the council voted 4-2 against asking the SpringBrook Homeowners Association to reconsider giving an easement to open an unimproved nature trail along Lick Creek.
Councilwoman Blanche Brick was among those asking the HOA leadership to return the request to its property owners.
HOA President Gary Ives gave a conditional yes but noted the continued strain among its membership.
But Katy-Marie Lyles led a council majority who wanted to move on.

Mayor Nancy Berry was also in the majority vote.
Berry concluded the discussion by thanking Ives and noting he was recently re-elected HOA President.
The HOA board told the council it had concerns about the nature trail’s maintenance costs and exposure to liability.
