Brazos Valley Red Cross Assists In Hurricane Isaac Response

Red Cross volunteers from the Brazos Valley continue to assist victims of Hurricane Isaac.

Area chairman Mike Southerland says 10 area residents have been serving as part of an overall effort where the Red Cross has served 42,000 meals and has housed 4,200 who fled the storm.

Southerland says cash donations are being sought to offset Red Cross expenses estimated at $10 million dollars.

Southerland says there are three ways to make a donation: go to the Red Cross website, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Mike Southerland visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
