CS Council Candidate Pinto Ruled Ineligible

Arthur Pinto

A late-filing candidate for College Station City Council is out of the race.

City officials determined Tuesday that Arthur Pinto’s application was incomplete, rendering him unable to run.

Pinto did not have time to make the needed corrections because he waited until Monday to file, which was the deadline.

That leaves two uncontested candidates for the pair of vacancies on council for the November election.

John Nichols is now unopposed for the Place 4 seat. Incumbent Katy-Marie Lyles is not seeking re-election. James Benham is unopposed for the Place 6 seat. Dave Ruesink is prohibited from running again because of term limits.
