CS Council Sets Route of Lick Creek Hike & Bike Trail

Ten years after it was first proposed, the College Station City Council has given the green light to build the Lick Creek hike and bike trail.

The chosen route keeps the concrete path along streets in the SpringBrook subdivision. That’s a route supported by homeowners whose properties back up to the creek.

But a unanimous council supported Karl Mooney’s suggestion that the HOA give the city an easement to maintain an unimproved foot path along the creek that could connect to the official trail.

Comments from Karl Mooney.

Blanche Brick had raised the idea earlier this year.

Instead of maintenance costs coming from property or sales taxes, Mooney says funding would come from the city’s drainage utility fund.
