Walker County Man Arrested in College Station Hit & Run
Featured Stories, News Friday, August 10th, 2012A Walker County man is accused of driving a car in College Station that struck a man so hard he was knocked out of his boots.
Officer Rhonda Seaton says 59 year old Denson Martin, Jr. of New Waverly was arrested Friday by Walker County Sheriff’s officers for leaving the scene of an accident and failing to render medical treatment.
The charges are associated with an accident shortly before 11 p.m. on August 4 near the intersection of Holleman Drive South and Davidson Drive.
Martin told investigators he first thought he struck a deer then discovered it was a man, then he said he drove to a convenience store and told the clerk to call 9-1-1.
Seaton says according the video surveillance, Martin never appeared at the store.
Passing motorists who saw the waving hand of the victim, who was thrown into a ditch, stopped and reported what happened.
Injuries to Ricky Lee Reeder included a lacerated liver and a cracked pelvis requiring reconstructive surgery.
