Two Fatal Weekend Freak Accidents

A Bryan woman is dead in a bizarre accident on Highway 21 east of Bryan Sunday. 33-year-old Tracy Louise White was riding with her husband when a piece of angle iron came off another vehicle and went through the windshield of their pickup. White was hit and later died at St. Joseph-Bryan. Her husband was not hurt. Authorities do not have a description of the other vehicle.

HOUSTON (AP) _ Investigators say a woman has been killed and a girl hurt by a falling pine tree in a Houston-area neighborhood. The Harris County Constable’s Office says the accident happened Sunday night during a family gathering in a backyard. Authorities say the tree was outside the fence surrounding a house, which also was damaged.  Authorities are trying to determine what caused the tree to fall.  Lt. Kenneth Key says family members heard a loud popping as the tree came down. Key says a woman who was struck died of her injuries. The injured girl was transported to a hospital. Details on her condition weren’t immediately available.   Names of the pair have not been released.
