Brazos County Records First Human Case of West Nile Virus

Brazos County has its first human case of West Nile Virus.

Dr. Charles Williams at the health department says the young adult is expected to recover.

Meantime, more cases are expected as the mosquito population and the number of skeeters with the virus continues to rise.

Williams continues to promote prevention, remembering the four “D’s” of draining standing water, staying indoors at dawn and dusk, proper dress, and using mosquito repellent containing DEET.

WTAW’s Bill Oliver visits with Dr. Charles Williams.
