Local Crowds Participate in Chick Fil-A Customer Appreciation Day

Chick-Fil-A drive thru line outside the Towerpoint location and crowd inside the Texas & Harvey store.

A scene played out nationwide Wednesday was duplicated in Bryan and College Station.

All the local Chick Fil-A restaurants had customers lined out the door and traffic backed up past parking lots onto streets and freeway service roads.

Political commentator and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee created the Chick Fil-A customer appreciation day.

That followed attacks on statements made by the restaurant’s chief executive, which he affirmed his view that the Biblical view of marriage should be upheld.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Huckabee’s Facebook page for this event indicated 640,000 planning to attend.

Just got back from dinner at Chick Fil A. It was very crowded and they said it had been that way all day! Great response to Gov. Huckabee’s call for us to take a stand for religious freedom and freedom of speech!
