A birthday celebration in the middle of the night led College Station Police making three arrests.
Officer Rhonda Seaton says the call Wednesday at 3:25 a.m. reported the men shooting a b-b gun from the parking lot of the E-Z Travel Motel towards electric meters on the back of the Game Stop store.
Sharing a motel room were 27 year old Austin Dooley of College Station, 26 year old Clinton Kerns of Waco, and Derrick Sherrod of Waco, who had turned 23.
Patrol officers say they saw Dooley and Kerns fire what looked like an assault rifle, damaging the covers of the electric meters. Seaton says Dooley and Kerns were arrested for criminal mischief.
Seaton says the motel room door was wide open and officers saw Sherrod passed out on the bed with a loaded handgun next to him. The arrest report noted officers were able to enter the room, secure it, and place Sherrod in handcuffs without him waking up.
All three were arrested for public intoxication.
