Blinn College Employees to Receive Largest Pay Raise in Five Years

Blinn College employees, including more than 900 in Brazos County, will be getting their largest pay raise in five years.

President of Blinn’s Brazos County campuses Ted Raspiller says non-faculty employees get a pay raise of $1,000 dollars or three percent, whichever is greater…while teachers get three percent and a step increase of $1,000 dollars instead of $400.

Dr. Raspiller says part of the unexpected state revenue will also be spent improving public transportation for Blinn students going to and from where they live and to and from Texas A&M University.

Raspiller says funding comes from unexpected state  revenue of $1 million dollars.

Blinn employees pay raises each of the last four years averaged one percent.

Ted Raspiller visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
