At approximately 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 5th, officers with the College Station Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Holleman Drive for a report of a suspicious person.  A caller had reported that he had seen a male and female near the mailboxes.  He believed that they were carrying a blue bag and were possibly stealing mail.  Prior to the officers’ arrival, the caller told CSPD dispatch that the pair had left the scene.  He was able to provide a vehicle description and direction of travel.

The officers were able to locate a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in the 1400 block of Holik Drive and made contact with the occupants.  They also were able to see a blue bag in the back seat of the car along with a stack of mail.  The officer could see that some of the mail was addressed to various residences located in the 1400 block of Holleman Drive.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Justin J. Long and the passenger was identified as Ashley Elizabeth Carter.  Mr. Long was found to be driving with a suspended license and was placed under arrest for that offense.

The original caller was able to identify Long and Carter as the male and female that he originally saw at the mailboxes.  Carter told officers that they had taken some mail that did not belong to them.  Officers also found a woman’s handbag in the vehicle.  The handbag contained multiple items that did not belong to Long or Carter.  Inside the handbag officers found numerous drivers licenses, credit cards, money orders, checks, credit card bills and a health insurance card. The items found appeared to belong to victims in College Station, Bryan and Brazos County.
