Bryan Firefighters Put Out July 5th Fireworks Grass Fire

It was the day after July 4th that brought out Bryan firefighters to a grass fire started by fireworks.

Investigator William Bouse says up to one acre of ground along Canterbury Street, east of Copperfield, was burned in Thursday’s fire.

Bouse says two middle school aged youngsters shooting fireworks reported the fire and took responsibility for their actions. The juveniles were given written warnings and were told the resources used to extinguish the fire could have been needed elsewhere.

WTAW’s Bill Oliver visits with William Bouse.
