Tigers fall, 4-1, to Cy Ranch in 5A Title Game

The A&M Consolidated Tigers lost 4-1 to the Cypress Ranch Mustangs in the Class 5A State Championship game Saturday at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

After the Mustangs built their three-run lead, the Tigers could not score with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth. Then in the bottom of the seventh, Consol got runners on first and second with one out, but a pick-off try that went high at second base resulted in a bizarre double play as both runners were tagged out to end the game.

The Tigers finish their season as the State runner-up while Cy Ranch wins a state title in only its third year as a school.
