Aggies host San Diego State

The Aggie baseball team has just four of its 40 home games left but they are certainly hoping the NCAA gives them more when Regional sites are announced on May 27th.  The Aggies take a break from Big 12 play this weekend but the three-game home series with San Diego State is vital to A&M’s resume.

A&M currently is ranked 17th on the RPI list, a crucial indicator of the teams that will earn favor with the selection committee.

The Aztecs don’t offer a chance for A&M to climb far as they are ranked 158th after struggling to a 22-27 record this year so far. But wins will keep them from falling.

The games are at 6:35 tonight, 2:05 Saturday and 12:05 Sunday. San Diego State is coached by Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn, now in his ninth season coaching his alma mater.

You’ll hear all the games on 1620-WTAW.
