Local Businessman & Volunteer Art King Dies in South Texas

Local realtor and community volunteer Art King died Sunday in Harlingen while on a fishing trip with his son.

King was well known for his auctioneering skills at local charity events.

An autopsy has been ordered.

Funeral services for Art King are Thursday morning at 11 at First Baptist Church in Bryan. Visitation is Wednesday night from 6 until 9 p.m. at the family home. Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

King was 67 and is survived by his wife Lylabeth and other relatives.

A friend for more than 35 years, Bob Walker says King was civic-minded and cared about the reputation of the community.
