Bryan Gang Member Arrested for the 18th Time
Posted by Bill OliverNewsFriday, December 31st, 2010Jamie Rodriguez, Jr.
For the 18th time in the last five years, a Bryan gang member has been arrested.
23 year old Jaime Rodriguez, Jr. is accused of participating in 60 burglaries around College Station over the last two months. He’s also charged with evading arrest on December 20th.
And when Rodriguez was captured December 29th he was also held for firing a weapon, assaulting two people with a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and reckless driving.
Bonds on those nine crimes total $405,000. And a local judge ordered Rodriguez held without bond after being accused of violating probation from a drug possesion conviction handed down last month.
College Station detectives believe Rodriguez is one of at least five peole accused of burglaries and/or selling stolen property to pawn shops.
Upscale neighborhoods were targeted, including St. Andrews, Spring Branch, Spring Meadows, Cold Spring, Southern Hills, and Pebble Creek. Investigators combined information collected from victims and pawn shops to track down Rodriguez the first time. He and two fellow gang members are accused of eluding police. But officers found the car believed to be used in the crime spree. Inside the car was property belonging to 11 victims and burglary tools.
