Power Outage Affects 2,000 CSU Customers

Just about the time many residents were sitting down to dinner Wednesday evening, the lights went out in part of College Station.

College Station Utilities says an equipment failure at their switch station is the culprit.

Power went out to about 2,000 customers starting about 6 p.m.

The city says the longest reported outage was about one hour, 40 minutes. Residential and commercial users, even traffic lights, were affected.
