Thanks to technology, a stolen iPad from San Marcos was found in College Station.
Officer Rhonda Seaton says the owner installed an app to track the iPad.
The owner also told investigators the only person who had been in his apartment lived in College Station. Seaton says the address of the suspect matched the location of the tracking app.
Seaton says the suspect, who had the iPad under a mattress, had taken it when he was intoxicated but wanted to give it back but he did not know how.
22 year old Trent Hunter of College Station was arrested on a theft charge and is out of jail after posting bond.
WTAW’s Bill Oliver visits with Officer Rhonda Seaton.

Aren’t those Aggie morons the ones who act like they can do no wrong and always say “Aggies don’t lie, cheat, or steal”?
They have one of the most criminal athletic programs in the country and they STILL don’t win very much. Idiots.
umm sorry that my brother was under the influence i guess you’ve never drank before!! it was a stupid mistake and hes no that kind of person so make sure you know someone and the situation before you express your narrow minded opinion!! thanx
I’ve been drunk plenty of times and have stolen a freaking iPad or anything else. If he gets so drunk he steals then he’s got an even bigger problem. Doesn’t surprise me though, the whole A&M program is full of criminals.
Sorry but there is nothing anyone can do or say that justifies stealing a $1000+ piece of merchandise from someones apartment. Good thing the owner had a tracking app because I highly doubt he had any intention of returning the iPad. Matter of Fact the first time he probably even felt bad for his actions is when the officers knocked on the door. What an embarrassment to the aggie community!
I knew Trent in high school. This is not characteristic of the Trent I know. He made a mistake. This will change his life!
