College Station Area Housing Market Improves

College Station is among 40 new metropolitan areas that was recognized this month for improvement in housing permits, employment, and house prices.

According to the National Association of Home Builders index, the College Station area has seen 4.5% growth in employment, a 7.8% increase in home prices and a 3% rise in single-family housing permits.

Ed Berry, Executive Vice President of the Brazos Valley Realtors Assocation, said Texas A&M and Blinn students play a big role in the strong housing market. Many parents buy houses in the area for their children to live in while attending school.

He also said new developments such as the Texas A&M Health Science Center, the new Scott & White Hospital and College Station High School are causing new residents to move to College Station.

A friend of mine told me about the 123 Refinance and by refinancing for a shorter term, you might be able to become debt-free at a younger age than you previously expected, thus setting yourself up for a more secure retirement.
