A College Station man who had eaten hallucinogenic mushrooms is accused of causing three crashes and injuring two men while driving in Bryan Friday night.
21 year old Austin Hasten is out of jail on bond following his arrest.
Officer Jon Agnew says Hasten was driving a pickup with no headlights that struck two vehicles near Texas and Villa Maria before crashing into a unit of the West University Gardens apartments.
A man inside the apartment sustained a skull fracture. Occupants of the other units in the same building were evacuated until the structure could be inspected.
Witnesses say Hasten, wearing only blue boxers, ran from the scene but was found at Villa Maria and Wellborn.
Hasten is also accused of giving a patrolman a black eye before he was subdued.
Jon Agnew visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
