Wildfires in Brazos & Grimes Counties

Count Brazos County among those working on wildfires. Emergency Management Coordinator Chuck Frazier says no roads have been closed and no evacuation orders have been given. Monday afternoon, volunteer firefighters were sent north of Bryan, along FM 2223. According to a listener to lives in North Country Estates, the fires were north of where he lives. That would place them north of Mancuso Road.

In Grimes County, as of 4 p.m. Monday Highway 105 and FM 1774 were still open. The latest evacuations were west of Plantersville in the Pine Brook development off county road 202 and east of Whitehall along CR 305. The Grimes County website states 3,800 acres of land have been burn and 35 structures have been destroyed by fire. Evacuees have been told to check in at Navasota High School.
