Lack’s Furniture to File for Bankruptcy

A Texas furniture store chain is closing its doors.

Lack’s Furniture announced filing for bankruptcy. After the first of the year store closing sales will start at all 36 locations, including College Station.

From a news release, company officials say lenders that Lack’s have used to finance customer purchases throughout the stores 73 year history have stopped the practice and want to be repaid for its current loans.

The closure affects 900 employees.
